THE DOT

The dot is the fundamental building block of all forms. It’s actually an interesting concept that I read about in my Design Development class. For a shape to be classified as a dot, it doesn’t even need to be that small. It does eventually become a plane when it is large enough compared to the space around it, but a dot can be any size. I also found it surprising that it doesn’t even need to be a circle. It can be a square, a triangle, or even a blob. Any shape with a recognizable center is a dot. Endless arrangements of compositions can be created with dots working together.
