From Blindness to Redemption

The church that I attend just created a youth Instagram account earlier this month, and I was put in charge of running the account. I’m excited and grateful for this opportunity, and I have been posting consistently. My most recent post is an invitation for our youth Bible study. I found this image on Cosmos and added grain to it in Photoshop. I moved the image to InDesign, where I added and adjusted the text. This isn’t an effective invite because it doesn’t include where or when. That was intentional; they asked me to make it look like an attractive poster and keep the details in the caption of the post.

We have been going through the New Testament in our Bible studies, and we are currently in the book of Luke. This was the first time I created a poster, and it was for part 2 of our study of Luke. The week before this, we talked about the first half of Luke. We learned that we are living in a world where all of us are sinners. Thankfully, we have a loving God who gives us a chance to repent so we can be redeemed. People sin because they don’t have the right priorities in life. A lot of people strive to get rich in this world, but they are blind because everything in this world will pass, so we should be generous to others and share what we have. We should be storing up our treasures in Heaven by bearing the good fruits. All people are sinners at different levels, and when someone who has done a lot more sin is redeemed, they honor God a lot more than someone who hasn’t committed as much sin. We need to be mindful of this because we shouldn’t judge others because they sin differently than we do. It is important to accept all people and keep each other accountable with a sincere heart.
